Muriel Meynlé

Original in every sense, Muriel Meynlé of Molsheim, France, is an accomplished artist and also OSRAM’s was first exclusively E-business manager in the world outside of Germany. Other E-business managers have dual job responsibilities. Combining creativity with communications, in collaboration with IT experts at OSRAM in Munich, Meynlé has managed the Molsheim Web site for 7three years. Her career with OSRAM began in Molsheiiem in 1990, specializing in advertising publications, internal communications and multimedia projects.

Holiday travel often provides inspiration for her art. The beauty of the exotic animals she observed in Africa emerge vividly in her work. « I love the animals and the landscape. Africa was marvelous! Years ago I painted many giraffes. And now I find myself painting more women. My subjects are always changing, » she says. The wonders of natural world - – from sunlight to fascinating people, amuse and engage her thoughts. « The surprise of actually selling some of my paintings has motivated me to work harder as an artist, » she says, with growing confidence.

Exhibiting paintings has thrust her unique talents into the public’s eye. Since the first walk-through exhibit in 2002, 10 more have been held in various locations in France. The exhibit schedule for 2004 is available on her personal Web site, www.murielmeynle.com also featuring images of her paintings. A second Web site, www.galart.com/pro/murielmeynle, provides more opportunity for viewing in a virtual gallery.

Finding time to create

Family life shared with husband Thierry, and sons Hugo, 11, and Anytonin, 9, is very busy. Yet she frequently devotes evenings to painting in her home studio while others watch television. « First I always wanted to be an art teacher. I began studying art at university college and then changed to business studies in marketing and communication. Now I am living in the best of two worlds at home and at work! »

A born artist, after college, the flurry of daily activity over the next 10 years placed her creative spirit in hibernation. Three years ago the blazing desire to paint emerged anew, and drawing on her marketing expertise, Meynlé thrust her images into cyberspace galleries for all the world to enjoy.

My Osram on the Web

In constantly improving, marketing and promoting the site to accelerate sales and serve customers, Muriel says she’s become like an ambassador. « I travel throughout France to meet customers and build relationships. Visiting customers also lets them know how important their needs are to us. Customers provide insights we use in designing features and tools for the site, » she says. Currently she’s focused on OSRAM’s My Extranet for France.
